Night Crawler
In silence i walked the night,
among my village the beast crept,
its footprints on winter white,
lofty snow flakes the sky wept.
Alone in the darkness i stood,
the beast looked upon me — to dine,
so did my heart sink and would,
not in my favor, this walk of mine.
